PYSZKOWSKI U.I. is a one-man consulting business run by Piotr Pyszkowski since May 2000. My work helps organizations unlock the value of their data, increase efficiency in data-intensive initiatives, and apply proven, practical architectural patterns. In both project execution and general consultancy work, I strongly believe in collaborative teams, goal-oriented approaches and documented products. PUI, for short, focuses on data architecture and advisory services within the data management discipline (DAMA). Clients typically receive tangible outcomes such as documented analysis, well-reasoned change recommendations, target (“to-be”) architecture plans, and efficient data models for warehousing and analytics—along with direct contributions to improving data integration.

I have refined my professional expertise over more than three decades in the data domain, working with highly demanding clients across a wide range of industries, including banking, insurance, the public sector, media, telecommunications, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and medical services, as well as sales and logistics. By gaining insight into the internal workings of numerous organizations, I have developed a deep understanding of their operations that goes well beyond the formalized requirements typically captured in IT system specifications. Throughout my career, I have taken on multiple roles—ranging from analyst and data engineer to architect and team leader—designing solutions that enabled organizational excellence, supported informed decision-making, or effectively leveraged information embedded in business processes. I integrate seamlessly with both internal and external teams while maintaining an independent perspective that allows me to assess processes and identify inefficiencies. I actively contribute not only through direct, spoken knowledge transfer, but also by embedding expertise into project artifacts and ensuring that knowledge remains reusable and durable beyond the immediate engagement. A significant milestone in my professional journey was the completion of postgraduate studies in Managing IT: Architectures, Processes, Standards, and Quality. This second stage of formal education allowed me to consolidate and reframe my experience, expanding it to include disciplines such as IT system architecture, process and data modeling, user interface usability, data quality management, data governance, and master data management. Now, I support organizations across a wide range of initiatives—from defining data strategies aligned with business needs, through data governance frameworks and actionable implementation roadmaps, to data modeling at all levels of abstraction.
